Boston, the largest city in New England, is one of the places with more history and interest throughout the country (If you don't know why you are already taking a long time to read our super-not-so-summary of the history of the United States XD) . We will always remember it as the first place we step on the American Continent, and that is that we landed here with a tremendous desire to discover an incredible country. And yes, Boston is a great gateway! Next we will tell you the best what to see and do in Boston in two days
1. Tour the Freedom Trail (to your ball or with a group)
The Freedom Trail is an itinerary that will take you to discover the Boston's main historical points of interest (which are not few!). Along the 4 Km of the tour you can visit these 16 stops:

- Kings Chapel
- Boston Latin School

We made a part for free and also joining a tour which organizes a local non profit association that leaves from the Boston Common Visitor Center, and in which they told us a thousand and one curiosities about the city and its famous characters.

2. Relax in the Boston Common
In addition to being the base from where the Freedom Trail departs, this immense park is the green lung of the city and center around which the streets are distributed. Walking through it, taking a nap or improvising a picnic (taking care that the huge squirrels do not destroy your deserve it) is a real treat.
And if he knows you little, you just have to cross the street to find yourself surrounded by more trees in the Boston Public Garden.
3. Fall in love with Beacon Hill
With Beacon Hill it was love at first sight (before even meeting us in person). The fault was of a photo we saw on Pinterest, where an alley was shown the picturesque sea, with brick houses, flags on the facades and colorful flowers on the windows. For us it is undoubtedly one of the best things to see and do in Boston!
After visiting this Boston neighborhood We swear that this is one of the cases in which reality surpasses fiction: Beacon Hill is the most! Cobbled streets, Victorian houses, perfect doors for Instagram XD, vintage stores and a fantastic atmosphere.
Tip: if you don't have too much time try to visit (at least) Acorn street, more authentic and flirtatious, and Charles Street, more commercial. Chestnut Streets It would also be worth a visit, we leave it there 😉
4. Chop something in the Quincy Market
The truth goes ahead: it is a very tourist market, which means two things ... many people and quite high prices. If you are looking for a more authentic place we recommend you go to Boston Public Market. Peeero, look is free and the building where the Quincy Market is located is a architectural wonder and with a lot of history, so it's worth visiting. In addition you know, among so much offer (there are from typical lobster sandwiches of this area to hamburgers or pizzas) you will always find something good, beautiful and cheap to take to your mouth.
We recommend theBoston Chowda, to try one of his celebrities clam chowder (clam and potato soup) or a lobster roll, a lobster sandwich very typical of the area. Although not cheap, the lobster roll menu with soup and drink costs about $ 30.

5. Eat a lobster roll
We were clear that we were not going to leave Boston without trying a lobster roll, although we were also clear that we were not going to ask for a mortgage to pay it ... So investigating we found these three options, all with very good reviews and with lobster roll for less than $ 20:

Verdict? We ended up eating pizza in the Italian neighborhood, not for nothing, but because we are backpacking rats! But we promise to eat one in New York.
6. Stroll through North End
Or what is the same for the “Little italy”From Boston, a neighborhood full of pizzerias, patisseries and little shops that will take you to Belpaese. Do not miss a walk through Hanover Street, the main artery of North End and by “All Saints Way”, A narrow alley full of images of Santos. Super curious!

7. Explore Back Bay
Another lovely neighborhood where houses Victorians alternate with luxury stores and the occasional scratch. The essential stops here are:

9. Enjoy the Waterfront
You may not know it but Boston is a city of the sea, and to get the most out of your air more “maritime” you must absolutely approach the Waterfront, a neighborhood full of locals and where you can take some wonderful photos.
Tip: if you want to see Boston from another perspective, get on a water taxi ($ 12). Or in some cruise. The two tourist cards we are talking about include a cruise to see the USS Constitution.
10. A little piece of Asia
Boston has one of the America’s largest Chinese neighborhoods, is where the great Asian population of the city is concentrated and where you can find almost everything! We were looking for a cheap adapter for a day and a half and nothing at all, it was looking at the first store we saw in Chinatown and bingo! How the Chinese know!
We are in love with Asia, so it goes without saying that we felt like fish in a great ocean, we loved walking among dunplings restaurants and others with ducks hanging in their windows, seeing old men (and not so much) playingXiàngqí or just looking and noticing that street street so typical.

We stayed at HI Boston, a hostel that… more than accommodation is a true experience! Since we arrived we knew we would love it and it was. It is a red brick building in the center of Boston, with common areas that are a pass, breakfast included and very good roll.
