BaliIt is one of our favorite places: many repudiate it for being super tourist and commercial, although these - normally - are those who have spent the trip drinking in Kuta, shopping at the Ubud market and back to the scams and the party of Kuta We have already talked about the personality riots that this wonderful island has, although it is clear to us that, if you know how to get off the established route, this Indonesian island will make you fall in love. Here you have 35 things to see and do in Bali (from the most tourist to the least kicked).

- Soak up Balinese Hinduism (a unique religion in the world) in the Pure Besakih, the mother temple of Bali and the most important of the whole island.

In Bali there are some beautiful temples, but there are many of them. To know which ones you have to visit, check out the best temples in Bali here,

- Explore Bali by motorcycle: It's the best advice we can give you! Bali lives much better having its own means of transport that takes you to every corner. It is also a cheap way to explore the island and that will allow you total freedom. If you are interested in traveling in this way, we recommend a super guide book with itineraries and tips on motorcycle travel in Bali (by the way, it is our ... jiji).

- Enjoy the Balinese cuisine, for us one of the best in the world: spicy but delicate. Don't stop trying thekentang perkedel (some potato croquettes that drove us crazy), satay with peanut sauce, satay lilit (some spicy fish skewers) gado-gado (salad with vegetables, shrimp bread and peanut sauce) and pisang goereng (fried plantain). Here we tell you more about the typical dishes of Indonesia.

- If you want to learn how to cook your favorite Balinese dishes, do not hesitate to sign up for a cooking class (They cost from € 20). Lety did it in Lovina and she loved it!

- Meet the most beautiful lakes in Bali: the Lake bratan, the Tamblingan, the Buyan and the Batur.

- Surf: Whether you are a professional surfer or if you have never climbed into a table. Bali is one of the world surfing paradises, take advantage of it! The best area is from Kuta down, on the beaches of the west coast of the Bukit Peninsula.

- If you want to enjoy an unforgettable sunset go to Tanah Lot temple (one of the prettiest in Bali, by the way) in an idyllic setting. It will be a magical moment, although you will be accompanied by a few other travelers, everything is said.

- Try one of the most beloved drinks by Indonesians: you bothol.

- Be a responsible tourist: One way is to stop buying souvenirs made in China and favor the local economy. How? Take home handmade silver jewelry, masks made by artisans, paintings or batik fabrics. But above all, do not go to any Elephant Park or Safaris, or Marine Parks ... anywhere where they have animals locked up.

- One of the most famous images of Bali is that of its rice paddies, here the green acquires a unique and indescribable color! The best ones for us are those of Jatiluwih, although close to Ubud are those of Tegalalang.

- Get lost in the fruit and vegetable markets: always full of color and cheerful faces. A real treasure for photography lovers.

- Sign up for a course Batik: a decorative technique that consists of making drawings with liquid wax on fabrics. It's really beautiful.

- Talk to the locals, especially outside the tourist areas: you will be surprised to see the surreal and fun situations that form interacting with the locals.

- One of the best ways is eat in the warungs, cheap and delicious local restaurants! Do not be afraid of the quality of the food: if there are places, you can eat luxury (and the food is fresh, of the day!).

- One of the temples that we liked the most was the Pure Gunung Kawi, with its royal tombs carved into the rock.

- Give yourself a few hours of relaxation and happiness in one of the many Island SPA: Ubud's are the best. Although if you want to live an unforgettable experience ... take a hot air balloon flight! More info here.

- If you like trekkings do not miss one of the most beautiful in Indonesia: climb Mount Batur, the most active volcano in Bali, to enjoy an unforgettable sunrise. There are excursions, like this one that costs about € 40, that take you from Ubud at dawn to see sunrise from the top of the volcano.

- In Bali there are many important waterfalls, perhaps the most impressive are the Sekumpul waterfalls. They are close to Lovina, so you can use this town as a base to explore the north of the island.

- Marry! Bali is one of the mecca of the romanticons of the world ... It is not a cheap suuuper experience, but hey, it is a special occasion (and we assume that unforgettable). More useful info and prices here.

- We have already presented some of the temples of Bali. Although the one that fascinated us the most was the Tirta Empul, where pilgrims come to purify themselves in beautiful pools.

- If you are not afraid of bats, you can visit one of the most curious temples on the island: Goa Lawah where thousands of these animals sleep!

- Another curious temple is that of Goa Gajah with his 'Elephant Cave', a cave with a huge mouth fitted as a door.

- Find out about Bali parties and celebrations: It is a rich island of events and it is very worthwhile to participate in them to enjoy its most sacred and authentic side.

- Bali is one of the perfect places to make a yoga retreatIf you are passionate about this discipline, do not hesitate to do so.

- Take a Bintang very cool watching the sunset in Kuta or anywhere else on the island. Because any excuse is good for cooling off, isn't it?

- Enjoy adance showKecak, a dance, music and fire show that will blow your mind. Here you can book your tickets to attend a kecak dance in Uluwatu.

- You cannot skip one of the most beautiful temples in Bali (and the world): Uluwatu, which was built on top of a cliff above the sea.

- If you like the coffee (and tea) visit one of the many plantations where they grow them and you can make free tastings (if you later like it you can buy spices, chocolates or balinese tea to take you home). Just don't try the Kopi Luwak, here Faada tells you the reason.

- Stay quiet during Nyepi Day, the Balinese New Year: during this day everyone in Bali must stay at home (or in hotels) without making noise. It is a day of reflection that serves to purify the soul.

- Walk through the Ubud Monkey Forest (Reserve of the Monkey Forest) of Ubud: here live more than 600 monkeys - some not so cute - (be careful with your belongings and food!). If you survive it will be a beautiful and unforgettable experience hehe.

- If you want to know the Underwater Bali We advise you to snorkel and / or dive in the area of Nusa Lembongan, Amed Y Pemuteran.

- Discover Canggu, the most hipster Bali and full of instagrammer-friendly stores 🙂

- Visit the Ubud Palace to realize the greatness that the Balinese people came to have. Here we tell you another 20 things to see and do in Ubud.

- If you want to stick a whim dinner at some Jimbaran Beach beach bar: A day is a day!

- Take the odd dip in the Bali beaches: from the black sand of Lovina to the blue ones of Dreamland. Although if you are looking for seas and paradisiacal beaches, consider a getaway to the Gili Islands. Here you can book the excursion.) Or to Nusa Penida (this day tour takes you to the main points of the most fashionable island of Indonesia)

And obviously returns: We do not see the time to return for the umpteenth time to this island of Indonesia and discover other places.

If you have language problems, prefer to take guided excursions or want to take a reservation before arriving, we advise you to take a look at the Civitatis website, where there are many offers to enjoy tooooope of this beautiful island.
