Making housesitting allows you to know more and better a country: you will not travel as much or know many places, however you will have the opportunity to live the country as a local. Extending your stay in a city or town for a while will make you feel part of the community and you will be able to appreciate many more things than being a passing tourist.

You SAVE

Accommodation is one of the biggest expenses of a trip. If you take care of a house you will have a great saving of money.

CREATE NEW FRIENDSHIPS

Whether with the owners of the house, who with a little luck will be exceptional people, with parents, neighbors or friends ... you will meet new people with whom to practice a language, exchange opinions, chat and learn many things.

ANIMALS

If you love animals and miss a furry companion (on 4 legs, your friend is not worth it) doing housesitting you can give and receive endless pampering sessions! In addition you may have to take care of sheep, ducks, chickens, parrots ... and who knows if that can later be useful for your CV :-p

FREE TIME

For us, housesitting has been a breath of air: after so many months on the road and traveling (too much) quickly, taking care of a house and its animals is being the best! We have time to update the blog (we even started a new one in Italian), to read, to watch TV and practice English, to cook, to write (we already started the odd book!) Or just relax in the garden or enjoy the surroundings.

We like it so much that we are considering doing housesitting wherever we go (obviously alternating it with travel periods, that the backpacking syndrome is still there!)
