Day 4: SIENA - PISA - GIRONA

Today we have granted ourselves a little more rest time at Albergo Chiusarelli, the alarm clock rang at 7.30 in the morning. It's our last day of trip to Tuscany and in the morning, until after lunch, we plan to visit Siena.

So after breakfast we set off to get to know this famous city of Tuscany.
First we go directly to the Piazza del Campo in the city of Siena, to see it by day, because after 2 days here, we still have not stepped on it with daylight.

So we start with the museum, which is what we have closest.
There we spent some time, seeing works of art and decided that it is time to start climbing the “Panorama” of Siena.
The stairs are spiral and as narrow as a person goes through some difficulty.
Luck it is not a long time, but during the ascent we think about how it should be in summer, when people are both up and down !!!
We are contemplating the views for a long time and best of all, we are alone.

After this visit we go straight to the Crypt. There we were amazed with the paintings that are discovered at every step and even more when we think they were recently discovered and are exposed to the public only 7 years ago.

The last visit we make before the appetizer is the Batisterio.

As usual and unable to go tonight, we fell in the Piazza del Campo to make the appetizer.

It is sunny, so we can take advantage of this time to contemplate the views and enjoy some sun rays.

Before going to eat we take a walk, to take advantage of making the last purchases and we go straight to a famous ostería, near the Piazza.
There have eaten Tom Hanks, Bruce Springteen ...
We eat a Tuscan Antipasto, a Chianti steak and some blindelle with duck and black olives.
We left there with a full stomach and especially delighted with the food.
It's time to go to the Duomo, which is the last thing we have to visit before we leave.
The visit is the one we like most of all we have seen. Too bad we have quite fair time and we cannot admire it with more time.
It's almost 3 in the afternoon and we will pick up our rental car in Tuscany to get on our way to Pisa airport from Siena.

It takes us a couple of hours, which are quite enjoyable, because our GPS, as usual, does not take us on the highway and puts us through all the small towns of Chianti ... so we have a nice ride home!
We have the best landscapes !!
The “bitter” touch has been set by the Avis office, which wants to charge us for optional insurance (which we had previously rejected).

We are already at the airport, waiting to check-in and return home.
Our plane has not yet taken off, but we are sure that we will fly thinking about the landscapes that we have seen, in the meals that we have enjoyed and above all, in returning to Italy.
