The bus is the most common option to go from Florence Airport to the Santa Maria Novella central train station and the price of the ticket is 6 euros or 10 euros, if you buy round trip.
The shuttle "Fly in Bus", which takes less than half an hour to make the journey, is from BusItalia and has a frequency of every 30 minutes between 5: 0h0 and 20: 30h and one hour between 20: 30h and 00: 30h, every day.
Tickets can be purchased directly from the driver, although if you want to take the round trip ticket you have to go to a kiosk that sells ATAF tickets or go to the Busitalia bus station, located next to Santa Maria Novella.


A great option to stay in Florence is the Globus Urban Hotel located 5 minutes walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station and 5 minutes from Piazza del Duomo, the main square of the historic center. Since February 2019 there is a new T2 tram line that will take you from the airport to Santa Maria Novella station in 20 minutes for 1.5 euros.
This service, which has a frequency of 5 minutes, is operational from 05.06 to 23:59 every day, except Sunday that runs until 01:44 in the morning.
During the journey to the center, the tram makes 12 stops in different parts of the city.

The taxi is the fastest way to do the transfer from Florence airport to downtown or to your hotel, since in about 15 minutes, depending on traffic, you will be in the city center.

How to get from Pisa Airport to Florence

If you arrive at Pisa airport with a low cost company like Ryanair, the best option to get to Florence is the train. Trains called PisaMover leave from the same airport in Pisa and take just over 5 minutes to reach Pisa Central Station with a frequency between 5 and 8 minutes and a price of 2.70 euros the journey.
From this Pisa station you can also take another train, leaving 3 every hour, which will take you to the Santa Maria Novella station in Florence, in just over an hour for 8.40 euros.

From Pisa to Florence by train

Another option is to take the Airport Bus Express from the Autostradale company, which will take you to Florence in about 70 minutes, depending on traffic, to the Santa María Novella station for 12 euros.
